You can see a small summary of the Via Ferratas here. Video Vias Ferratas in Dolomites
The Dolomites take their name from the French geologist Dieudonné Dolomieu who discovered the properties of dolomite, a limestone rock rich in dolomite mineral, present in this mountain range. Between Alto Adige and Veneto are the Three Peaks of Lavaredo which, together with Monte Cristallo, dominate the upper part of “the pearl of the Dolomites” and the Cortina d’Ampezzo strong> with the nearby valleys of Comelico and Cadore. Located in the heart of the Venetian Dolomites in an area surrounded by high peaks, Cortina is one of the most famous mountain towns in the world.
With Manaslu Adventures you can tour the best of the Dolomites so you can enjoy the best viewpoints while you cross the impressive Ferratas, always facing a magnificent panorama: mountains made of rock walls, glaciers, karstic systems, very high peaks , towers and pinnacles; mountains incised by atmospheric agents, where Italian, German and indigenous Ladino community cultures mix. Without a doubt, the Dolomites are the birthplace of Via Ferratas. Due to the structure of its rock, many ferratas were equipped in the First and Second World Wars for military purposes, to defend hills and borders. Later these routes were re-equipped for sports and mountaineering use. Then they have spread throughout the world. With Manaslu Adventures you can explore mythical Via Ferratas such as the Innerkofler trail, the Ettore Boveri Ferrata, the Lipella ferrata to the Tofana di Roces or the Giuseppe Olivieri to Punta Anna, as well as the classic Marmolada, the peak highest of the Dolomites.
