Discover the land of the Sherpas. A Trek that will transport you to magical trails, mystical forests and legendary views surrounded by majestic peaks and some of the highest mountains in the world (Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Pumori, Thamerseku…).
Immerse yourself in Sherpa culture as you hike through the Himalayan wilderness. During the acclimatization days, we organize different activities that you can choose from, including our Special Sherpa Cooking Class run by our family in Namche Bazar.
Everest is the highest point on the planet and ranks first on many bucket lists. For hundreds of years, man has been trying to understand and control the grandeur of Mount Everest. In Nepal, you can’t avoid the Himalayas. It determines climate, topography, infrastructure, religion and trade. Trekking is one of the main reasons to come to the Everest region, also known as Khumbu, and live with your eyes one of the most intense experiences of your life without them having to tell you about it.

Equipment

Comfortable clothing adapted to a warm climate, trekking sneakers, rubber sandals, swimsuit and bath towel.
Toiletry bag (include wet wipes, high protection sunscreen and lip balm).
Binoculars and camera or similar.
Medium 40 l backpack, highly resistant to cold sleeping bag, light trekking mountain boots, thermal socks, tights or thermofiber, mountain pants, raincoat pants, thermal t-shirts, poles, fleece lining, down jacket, Gore-Tex jacket , raincoat, nylon gaiters-gaiters, gloves, hat, telescopic poles, headlamp, sunglasses, sun cream.
Drink, energy food (fruit, bars and/or nuts).
Appropriate clothing, especially thermal and waterproof, including a couple of changes of clothes, and personal hygiene utensils.
First Aid Kit Material: Broad spectrum antibiotic, analgesics (paracetamol with codeine -altitude sickness-, Aspirin…), antacid, anti-inflammatory, antidiarrheal, antihistamine, antibiotic ointment, anti-inflammatory ointment, primperan, disinfectant, cotton, Band-aids, bandage, tape, mosquito repellent, isotonic drinks.

DAY BY DAY ITINERARY

Personal advice on each trip.

Day 1

Departure from your country by international flight to Kathmandu (1,400 m)

Departure from an international airport with an overnight stay on board and/or in transit.

Day 2

Arrival in Kathmandu

Arrival in Kathmandu, picked up by our Spanish correspondent in Nepal and transferred to the hotel and rest of the day free to explore the city and the Buddhist and Hindu monasteries. Accommodation

Day 3

Flight Kathmandu to Lukla (2,840m) and trek to Benkhar (2,835m) / Time: 5 to 6 hours

Departure by plane to Lukla. This is a mountain flight that depends enormously on weather conditions, therefore the flight could be delayed until more favorable situations. Arrival in Lukla where we will begin the trekking. After about two and a half hours of walking we arrived at Phakding.

Day 4

Benkhar to Namche Bazar (3440m) / Time: 4 to 5 hours

During this day we have the first views of Mount Everest just before reaching Namche Bazar. At the beginning of the stage, the road is up and down and we will cross the DhudKhosi river several times. Upon reaching the town of Monjo (3000 m), after completing the required procedures and permits, we will enter the Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park, to continue with a steep zig-zag climb, and where we will not take a shortcut since in one of the curves we will observe Mount Everest. After almost 5 hours of walking we will arrive at Namche Bazar, capital of the Sherpa people.

Day 5

Namche Bazar. (3,450 meters) Free day.

In the morning we will do a circuit of about 4 hours, which will help us acclimatize and where we will enjoy magnificent views of Everest. In the afternoon free time to wander around and visit the Tibetan markets.

Day 6

Namche Bazar to Phortse (3810m) / Time: 6 to 7 hours

After a pleasant walk along a wide path for about an hour, we enter a forested path and descend to cross the Dudh Koshi Nadi River and climb to the village of Phortse on a steep path for about 30 minutes. Phortse is a magical place with privileged views to the south of the valley. In Phortse there is the high mountain and climbing school where Sherpas and other Nepalese train to become professionals. These students often end up working to take Western mountaineers to peaks like Everest.

Day 7

Phortse Tenga – Machermo (4,375 m) 4.20 h.

A wonderful day of hiking through the valley. As soon as you leave there is a steep climb to 4000 m. where it softens. After passing through the towns of Labharma and Luza we will reach Machermo.

Day 8

Machermo – GokyoRi (5340 m) – Gokyo (4750 m) – 7.45 h.

After our arrival in Gokyo, we will continue to GokyoRi, where we will enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the Himalayas, we will be able to observe Everest, Makalu, Lhotse…Then we will descend to Gokyo.

Day 9

Gokyo – Thagnag (4640 m) – 2.30 h.

In the morning, if the weather conditions were adverse the day before and we were unable to do so, we will ascend GokyoRi, and then We will continue to Thagnag. 2.30 hours.

Day 10

Day 09: Thagnag – Chola Pass (5,400 m) – Dzonglha (4,830 m) – 7.45 hrs

This day is very important. We started the day with a steep climb, and after an hour and a half we reached a hill at 5000 m. From here you can see the Chola Pass. We continue climbing for 3 hours and if the snow allows us, we will pass the Chola Pass, (5300 m) from where we will see the ChoOyu and several mountains over 7000 m. Next we will descend through a long valley until we reach Dzonglha.

Day 11

Dzonglha – Gorakshep (5140 meters) – 4.30 h.

We leave from Dzonglha, after 2 and a half hours we will arrive at the town of Lobuche. We continue climbing the left bank of the glacier until we reach Gorakshep.

Day 12

Gorak Shep – Kala Pathar (5,550m) – Dingboche (4,410m)

Early in the morning and in about 2 hours we reach Kala Pathar from where we have another beautiful view of Mounts Everest and Pumori. We will continue to Kala Pathar (for another two hours of walking). Once again from Kala Patthar we will be able to observe one of the closest and most formidable views of Mount Everest, returning to Dingboche to spend the night. Accommodation in a hostel.

Day 13

: Lobuche – Tyangboche (3,875 meters) – 6.00 a.m.

We will say goodbye to Namche, but not before enjoying a well-deserved farewell at the German Pastry Shop to have the best coffee and delicious handmade sweet cookies. Lukla will be our last stop before taking the flight back to Kathmandu the next day.

Day 14

: Tyangboche (3875 mts.) – Namche Bazar-4.00 h

We will start the day with beautiful views of Everest and Lhotse. It begins with a steep descent until crossing the river in the town of Phumki. We continue climbing to Namche Bazar for about 3 hours. We will go to Namche Bazar. We will have the afternoon free.

Day 15

Namche Bazar – Phakding (2,650 m) – Lukla 8.00 a.m.

We will continue along the path we already know to Phakding. From here we will continue to Lukla. Accommodation and dinner.

Day 16

Lukla – Kathmandu

We will take a small plane from the vertiginous Khumjung airport (an “eagle’s nest”) to fly to Kathmandu. The flight time will depend on weather conditions. The flight will leave early in the morning. After landing in Kathmandu, our transportation will drop you at the Hotel. The rest of the day is to rest and enjoy the city! We will be available to make recommendations or help you with anything you need. If you wish, you can ask us for a guided tour of the city if you did not do so on the second day of your stay in Kathmandu.

Day 17

Free day in Kathmandu.

We can dedicate this day to continue visiting the city or rent a bike to visit the surroundings of Kathmandu, the beautiful cities of Bhaktapur and Patan, and the Pasupatinath monastery, the most important Hindu temple in all of Nepal.

Day 18

Return day from Kathmandu.

Transfer from the hotel to the airport to take the return flight

Day 19

Arrival in your country.
