This is one of the best options to get to know the essence and nature of Sagarmatha National Park in fewer days than doing the Everest Base Camp trekking. . Enter and discover the wonderful world of the Sherpas.
We will visit some important villages of the Sherpa community (Namche Bazar, Khumjung, Tengboche, Upper Pangboche…) where culture and tradition continue to vibrate. You will be amazed by the beauty of the Buddhist architecture and the extraordinary art in the monasteries along the way.
We will arrive at the foot of the Ama Dablam mountain. For locals, the shape of this mountain resembles the skull of the Yeti. Ama Dablam is a very special place that has a unique vibration. In addition, you will get away from the busy trails to enjoy the Park in a more intimate way.
Walk in the shadows of the Yeti still present among thelegends of the locals.Mix into Sherpa culture as you walk through the nature of the Himalayas. Living rocks, flora and fauna in one of the most amazing mountain adventures you will ever do in your life.

We will get up very early (around 04:30 am) to be at the airport first thing in the morning and take the domestic flight to Lukla (2800m), where the trekking begins. Get ready for a real adventure flying with a small plane with amazing views of the Himalayas on the left, and the endless hills covered by terraced rice fields on the right. Once we land, we start walking. We will stop to recharge batteries and have something to eat in Phakding. Our last destination will be Monjo, the last town before entering the Sagarmatha National Park. Upon our arrival in Monjo, we will be able to explore the town, see the monastery and the school. Today we will have our first Sherpa dinner. This time we slept in a high altitude mountain house! The adventure has only just begun.
During this day we have the first views of Mount Everest just before reaching Namche Bazar. This will be another walk shorter than other days, around 3 to 4 hours without counting stops. The last 2 hours we will face steep terrain after crossing the highest suspension bridge in the region (from river level) to reach Namche Bazar. We will have time to walk through the town, try delicious treats at the Pastry Shop (the popular “German Bakery”), enjoy the paintings and crafts of the place or play pool in the town bar.
We will spend the day doing excursions and activities to explore the area and immerse ourselves in the culture. A variety of options are available. Some of our favorites; Trekking to Everest View Hotel, great trek with the best views of Everest: Nuptse, Lhotse, Everest, Annapurna… Visit to Khumjung, right at the foot of Mount Khumbila (the sacred mountain). We see the region’s school sponsored by the Edmund Hillary Foundation and return through the Yak farms. Upon our arrival at Namche Bazar, we can enjoy a good movie or documentary in the cafeteria, or if you prefer, we have a Special Sherpa Cooking Class* available for you (*none of the mentioned activities have additional costs).
After a pleasant walk along a wide, flat path for about an hour, we will descend to the Dud Kosi River and cross a suspension bridge to climb again. steep terrain for approximately 2 hours. It is then when we arrive at the paradise called Tengboche; It is home to one of the highest Buddhist Monasteries in the world. We sleep in Deboche, 20 minutes downhill from Tengboche, where we will rest in a more comfortable shelter. Due to the exposure of Tengboche’s location (on top of a hill), the winds and cold may make our stay more uncomfortable.
Today we will leave the main trek route towards Mingbo. We cross the Dudh River next to Pangboche to cross it again and begin to ascend following the ridge towards Mingbo. Along the way we will pass through meadows and Yak pastures. The setting couldn’t be more idyllic!
From Mingbo we will take a short walk of approximately 40 minutes to visit the Ama Dablam Base Camp. The path is secluded and has one of the best and most impressive views of the Sagarmatha Himalayan Mountains. During October and November is the peak season for climbers to the summit of Ama Dablam and we can find a tent city in the Camp. After our visit to Ama Dablam, we will head to Pangboche and stay in the old town (Upper Pangboche). This part of town is less crowded with tourists; a typically Sherpa town with a very traditional lifestyle and architecture. We will be able to seethe oldest Buddhist monastery in the region.
The views from Phortse will give you a new perspective of the valley. Situated on a hilltop, Phortse is flanked by two main valleys, the one leading to Everest Base Camp and the one leading to the Gokyo Lakes. The walk will take us along narrow paths and the privileged views of the Tengboche Monastery on the other side of the river will be a treat for our eyes. Phortse is a less crowded town than the surrounding towns, small and with a very traditional lifestyle.
We return toNamche Bazarbeginning our path descending to the Dudh River to cross it. Then we have steep terrain to reach a wide, flat path that will take us to Namche again.
We will say goodbye to Namche, but not before enjoying a well-deserved farewell at theGerman Bakery to have the best coffee and delicious handmade sweet cookies. Lukla will be our last stop before taking the flight back to Kathmandu the next day.
The flight will depart early in the morning. After landing in Kathmandu, our transportation will leave you at the Hotel. The rest of the day is to rest and enjoy the city! We will be available to make recommendations or help you with anything you need. If you wish, you can ask us for a guided tour of the city if you did not do so on the second day of your stay in Kathmandu.
Last day to explore the city, visit other surrounding places like Bhaktapur or Patan.…or time to find special crafts to take home as a memory of a country that we hope has inspired you.
We hope to see you soon!
