Iceland is one of the few countries where you can see the Northern Lights for a large part of the year. The auroras can be seen from the end of August to mid-April, that is, all of autumn in Iceland, winter and even part of spring and summer. Normally, the auroras appear between 9:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. at night. Aurora viewing requires dark, partially clear skies. In our experience, it is best to observe the auroras between 10:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. The trip that we present to you in Iceland by Manaslu Adventures not only aims to see the impressive northern lights but we also tour the island to see the most mythical sites in the country such as the golden circle, the Skógafoss waterfalls or the Vatnajöull glacier, the cases of wash,
Our guide wants you to enjoy it to the fullest and make the experience something unrepeatable in the Arctic, discovering landscapes that you will hardly forget. As a souvenir we will make a special video and photo report to immortalize your adventures

We will continue our route south towards Skógar to visit the Skógafoss waterfall , which with its 60 meters high and 25 meters wide is one of the most beautiful and representative waterfalls in all of Iceland. Afterwards we will approach a beautiful waterfall that falls above a small cave formed inside. The Kvernufoss waterfall , an unknown treasure of South Iceland. During the winter months, many of Iceland’s waterfalls freeze, creating a unique landscape. In this area we can see the effects of the famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano , which caused aerial chaos in Europe in 2010.
We will continue to Vík where we will visit the black sand beach of Reynisfjara , famous for its basalt columns, from where we can observe the famous “trolls” that are found in the sea and that legend says were petrified at dawn.

Iceland is the 18th largest island in the world and the second largest in Europe. Its rivers run from the center, where the Highlands are, towards the coast. Lakes and glaciers cover 14.3% of the country and only 23% is covered by vegetation. The main glacier is Vatnajökull, the largest in Europe. The island itself is composed of basalt and petrified lava with low levels of silica, as well as other rock types such as rhyolites and andesites.
The climate of the Icelandic coast is classified as oceanic subpolar, that is, it has cool, short summers and mild winters, with temperatures that do not drop below -3 °C.
There are climatic variations between one part of the island and another. In general, the south coast is warmer, wetter and windier than the north coast. The lowlands in the interior and in the north of the island are more arid. Snowfall is more frequent in the north than the south. The inland highlands of Iceland are the coldest area of the entire island.
