7 tours in the Ordesa National Park
1. The Racón Girdle
We start with a stunning circuit along this natural wall . The Faja Racón is located between the Cotatuero and Carriata circuses, a privileged location that offers incredible panoramic views of the valleys, the Tozal del Mallo and the Ordesa meadow. The route, accessible and moderate, runs at medium altitude over leafy canopies of beech, pine and fir trees.
2. Waterfall Route
The Arazas River, born at the foot of Monte Perdido, runs through the entire Ordesa Valley to join 15 km. then to the Ara River . The itinerary hides some of the most beautiful and emblematic corners of the entire park. We walk through the forests that shape the sub-alpine stage of the valley to the Arripas and La Cueva waterfalls , a natural spectacle of incomparable beauty.
3. Ponytail and Pelay Girdle
One of the most desired routes in the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park. Its itinerary runs entirely along the banks of the Araza River until reaching one of the most extraordinary waterfalls in the Pyrenees: the Soaso Waterfall, also known as Cola de Caballo.
The path takes us through the Gradas de Soaso , an immense natural staircase of limestone rock that shapes the riverbed. We continue along the Pelay Belt , a natural ledge at 1,900 meters that offers an unbeatable view of the Ordesa Valley.
The Faja de Pelay ends at the Calcilarruego Viewpoint, with exceptional views of the Cotatuero Circus and where the descent to Pradera de Ordesa along the Senda de los Cazadores begins
4. Ibón de Bernatuara
This ancient route runs along the old cattle trail that led the inhabitants of the Broto Valley to the high meadows of Bernatuara. The Bernatuara Valley, of glacial origin, was formed about 400 million years ago and is home to the beautiful Ibón de Bernatuara, with a perfect circular shape. This beautiful alpine picture is dominated by the peaks Crapera (2,591m) and Bernatuara (2,517m), which many decide to ascend and add amazing views to their experience.
5. The Otal Valley
One of the clearest examples of a “U”-shaped glacial valley that houses the Park. It ends in a perfect glacial cirque and the peaks of Otal (2,705 m) and Tendereña (2,847 m). The route accompanies the Ara River, with great flow in many of its points. It also reveals the formidable Cresta de la Escusana and the Faja de la Ribera to the Caseta de Otal.
6. The Ordiso Valley
This secluded and silent valley is one of the jewels that the park treasures. Typical fauna of the area such as black-faced dormice, vultures and bearded vultures take refuge there. The path begins in San Nicolás de Bujaruelo following the path of the River d’Ordiso. Beauty surrounds us every step we take.
7. The Pineta Valley: Cinca Waterfall and La Larri Plains
The Llanos de Lalarri are connected to the Cinca waterfall through the beautiful Montaspro belt. There is a route through the lush pine and beech forest at the bottom of the valley, and then follow a track that gently gains altitude until reaching the bridge over the Cinca River located at 1420 meters. The path decisively begins to gain altitude until reaching the Llanos de La Larri. Spectacular plain and valley of glacial origin of great width and extension.
