The Central Anatolia region of Turkey is an excellent place for ski mountaineering due to its mountainous topography and the presence of several high-altitude mountains. Popular mountains for ski touring in central Anatolia include Mount Hasan, Aladaglar National Park in the Taurus Mountains, and Mount Erciyes.
The Taurus Mountains in Aladaglar National Park are a very popular destination for ski mountaineering. The area has several peaks over 3,000 meters, as well as glaciers and high mountain lakes. Mount Erciyes is the highest mountain in central Anatolia, with a height of 3,916 meters. It is located near the city of Kayseri and is one of the main tourist attractions in the area. The mountain is a popular destination for ski touring, with many ski and hiking trails on its slopes.

Moderate level. A good technical level is required with touring skis sufficient to face slopes of up to 25 degrees and all types of untreated snow. Good physical condition to face slopes of up to 1200 positive meters with touring skis.

Day 1: Travel Day. Flight to Turkey. Transfer from Airport to Accommodation.
Day 2: Mountain skiing – Aladaglar Taurus Mountains National Park – Mount Guzeller (3,461m). We will head to the Aksampinari valley where we will begin our mountain skiing route. We will climb the Siyirmalik valley to the summit of Guzeller, with spectacular views. Once there, we will descend back to Aksampinari along the same path. A transfer will be waiting for us back to the accommodation.
Day 3 : Mountain skiing – Aladaglar Taurus Mountains National Park – Mount Emler (3,723m). After breakfast, we head to the Sokulupinar plateau at an approximate altitude of 1800/2000m. After 4 hours of ascent we will arrive at Celikbuyduran, at 3,450m altitude. We will ski down the same path to our starting point and from there we will return to our accommodation.
Day 4: Mountain skiing – Aladaglar Tauro Mountains National Park – Mount Alaca (3,585m). After breakfast we will go to the Aksampinari valley where we will begin the route. We will ascend to the Siyirmalik valley with an easy ascent through a pine forest area. After reaching the end of the valley, with beautiful views of Parmakkaya (Finger Rock), we will continue to the Avciveli Pass at 3,400m until we reach the Summit of Mount Alaca (3,855m). We will have a magnificent descent until we reach the Sarimehmetler plateau, where the transfer will wait for us.
Day 5: Mountain skiing – Aladaglar Tauro Mountains National Park – Demirkazik Pass (3,400m) – Cimbar Canyon. We will head to the Sokulupinar area and from there we will begin our ascent to the Demirkazik Pass (3,400m), through the Narpuz Valley. From the pass we will ski to the Arpalik plateau and from there we will continue through the Cimbar canyon, 15 to 100 meters wide and walls hundreds of meters high, leading to the village of Demirkazik.
Day 6: Hike Aladaglar National Park to Ihlara Canyon through the underground city of Derinkuyu. The walk will last between 1 and 2 hours, covering 5 – 6 km in distance. We will depart from the famous Ihlara Valley, a 14km long canyon with hundreds of churches.
Day 7: Ski mountaineering – Mount Hasan (3,268m). We will head to the town of Helvadere next to Mount Hasan, a dormant volcano with an elevation of 3,268m. At an altitude of 1,600 – 1,800m we will begin our ascent to the top of Mount Hasan. Then we will descend with spectacular views and our transfer will wait for us there.
Day 8: Ski touring – Mount Erciyes (3,916m). In the morning we will head to Erciyes Mountain, the highest mountain in central Anatolia. We will climb the top of Erciyes mountain with magnificent views. Then we will ski down to the starting point. There we will have a traditional Turkish tea, known as Cay. Then we will return to Cappadocia.
Day 8: Return Day. Transfer to the Airport.
All climbs will have between 1,000 meters – 1,900m of elevation gain. Distance: 12 – 18 km approximately.
