Manaslu Adventures offers you an experience hiking through the Vall d’Aran, located in the northwest corner of Catalonia. The region is crossed by the Garonne River. This makes it the only one in Catalonia that belongs to the Atlantic river basin. Its location in the middle of the Pyrenees and the high mountains that form the valley have conditioned its history and its strong character. These mountains are a paradise for lovers of hiking and high mountains. Manaslu Adventures will take you through its best corners, far from the crowds, places to discover where you can truly connect with nature and with yourself.
Accommodation in a refuge in the wonderful town of Salardú, Valle de Arán. In the 19th century it was already a landmark in the Aran Valley and a starting point for Pyrenean explorers. This refuge is a sample of ancient Aranese construction, it is an authentic house-museum with personality and centuries-old experience. You will stay in a building full of history.

Travel by own vehicle to the Aran Valley. Meeting with the group at the Accommodation around 7 pm. The guide will give a brief presentation of the program and we will enjoy a delicious dinner at the Accommodation.
The first day of activity will be dedicated to getting to know the Ruda Valley, a place of absolutely extraordinary natural beauty. Its origin is glacial and its unmistakable U shape, like the Aiguamog Valley, makes it unmistakable. At its head is the Saboredo Circus. We will access it from the North where there are dozens of lakes and eroded granite, one of the peculiarities of the Circus due to its glacial origin. The landscape wherever we look is of unparalleled beauty.

We will begin the route in the Baños de Tredós, a spa-hotel located at 1740m high, and one of the best entrance gates to the National Park. Today we will enjoy a magnificent alpine setting with peaks close to 3,000 meters, including the Gran Tuc de Colomèrs, the Creu de Colomèrs and the Tuc de Ratera and, in the middle of these colossi, we will find the Colomèrs lake circus, which houses some fifty “estanhs” (lakes) a product of ice erosion in glacial times, this will be the goal of this incredible day.

Today we will visit one of the most emblematic mountains of Mitjaran, which rises majestically from Vielha, Montcorbison. We will begin the route in the Oles bassa, surrounded by baricauba forests and continue towards the summit with views of the Aigüestortes National Park, the Posets-Maladetas Natural Park and Aneto (the highest peak in the Pyrenees, with an altitude of 3404 meters), a route that will not leave anyone indifferent.

The last day of the trip will be dedicated to getting to know the Baish Aran. Our starting point will be Vilamós, one of the towns located at the highest altitude in the Vall d’Arán, which is why it has one of the most exceptional viewpoints in the entire region. The views are excellent and we discover massifs such as Maladeta or the Aneto peak itself (3,404m), the highest in the Pyrenees. This tour will allow us to discover the rich mining and landscape heritage of Aran, visiting the Victoria mine and bassa d’Arres. We will observe the remains of buildings, galleries and other infrastructure of one of the numerous mining operations in the Aran Valley, and we will enjoy wonderful landscapes from Lake Arres.
