Colombia’s climate presents enormous diversity, depending on altitude and hemisphere. In general, the country has a warm and temperate climate in large cities at more than 2,000 meters above sea level, as is the case of Bogotá (2,600 meters above sea level). The coastal areas and plains have an average of 30º, while in the mountains, in mountain ranges such as the Andes or Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, temperatures below 0º can be reached.
In Colombia there are not four seasons. If we talk about the northern hemisphere, it can be said that summer is between May and September, and winter is between November and February. However, in the southern hemisphere, the warmest months are between November and March and the coldest between May and September.
